Why we made it:
Most vocabulary books simply test children’s existing knowledge rather than teaching them new words. That seemed pretty silly to us, so we made a different kind of vocab book.
Our multi-pronged approach combines pictures, written exercises, online games and varied revision tasks to teach words from scratch and make them extra sticky. We even added clues throughout so children can work through exercises independently.

The Illustrated Wordier Workbooks are a new and updated version of the vocabulary books that we’ve used for years with our weekly pupils. Each chapter provides photo illustrations and word clues that encourage children to think about each word carefully before selecting an answer. Crucially, the book is peppered with revision exercises (which are sorely lacking in most vocabulary books) to ensure that your child remembers the meanings of new words long after they’ve finished this book.
